MONDI SCP, which is the largest wood processor and the largest pulp and paper producer in Slovakia, decided to take this step in the area of planning and process management for the production and dispatch of pulp.
The new MES for Pulp Dryer (Manufacturing Execution System for Pulp Dryer) has been developed by SOFTIP on the basis of its comprehensive product SOFTIP PROFIT PLUS.
When specifying the requirements for the MES system, we relied on existing solutions at paper production centres. The flexibility of the SOFTIP PROFIT PLUS product enabled its easy adaptation to Mondi SCP requirements and standards, interfacing to the control system of the packaging line of the drying machine and to the SAP system.
One of the main benefits of its deployment at Mondi SCP was the automation of data collection from the production process with minimal human intervention.

Both management and authorised personnel can now efficiently plan dryer performance based on sales requirements and warehouse capacities, monitor the quality of dryer outputs, automatically dispatch them to the warehouse, record internal consumption requirements and external orders with automatic import from SAP, and flexibly manage pulp dispatch from the warehouse using mobile devices and barcode identification. Reporting of the individual processes is a matter of course.
With the connection to the process control system of the drying machine and to the SAP information system, the solution is continuously functional 24 hours a day. It is a unique solution capable of adapting to changing user requirements. At all process levels, it offers the necessary real-time information for operational decision-making and production and dispatch management.
The elimination of manual input from/to IS SAP has also minimised the risk of errors.
