Summary of the project

Berndorf Sandrik is a company with over 175 years of tradition in the manufacture and sale of cutlery and tableware. The introduction of a mobile solution for warehouse operations management has brought several benefits to this European leader, which also supplies its products to markets in the Czech Republic, Austria, Hungary, Switzerland, Poland, Germany, Russia and Japan.

Challenges and requirements

Berndorf Sandrik's most important requirements in this area were an online connection to the production system, tracking of the storage of goods by position and, of course, an increase in the efficiency of work in warehouse operations. He found all this in the SOFTIP Mobile Warehouse Manager application.


A new mobile solution for the management of the shelf warehouse was developed by SOFTIP as a superstructure over the production information system SOFTIP PROFIT PLUS. From a technical point of view, the SOFTIP Mobile Warehouse solution was developed on the basis of a native application for mobile devices running on the Android OS, while software updates are made via Google Play. The device includes an integrated barcode scanner and WiFi communication.

Results and benefits

The application itself provides an intuitive and easy-to-use software tool, designed for all workers involved in processes related to the movement of goods in warehouses. The mobile warehouseman allows them to use PDA devices to efficiently and conveniently perform all warehouse operations, from the receipt of goods into the warehouse, to positions, to their removal according to customer orders.

The warehouse worker verifies the items and confirms their quantity in a simple way - by scanning the barcode. The application automatically generates movements to the production warehouse system. By using barcode identification and verification, human errors are minimized. At the same time, the warehouseman has a real-time overview of the stock status of the items and their location on the storage places in the warehouse. And all this outside the production system, at any location in the warehouse.


A very interesting and original functionality is the operation of packaging components into product assemblies.


SOFTIP Mobile Warehouse also allows you to record the time duration of individual picking operations, which gives you an overview of the time consumption of operations for individual business cases. By obtaining the average picking time per item, Berndorf Sandrik can thus predict the picking time for the respective business cases. At the same time, this information can be retrieved by warehouse personnel.
