1. Describe your journey that led you to the clouds
I’m a trained translator who couldn’t stand Excel in college. Since I was quick to get excited about new things, I spent a long time figuring out what I wanted to do with my life (and maybe I’m still searching a little bit). Languages led me to a multinational company in Bratislava that manufactures elevators, and there—surprise, surprise—my analytical mind came into its own, and I also discovered a passion for „tech.“ Making my work and that of my colleagues easier through various „toys“—which I also enjoyed playing with in my free time, such as Power Automate and VBA—gradually became the core of my job. I already knew which direction was right for me. 😊 And since I’m a native of Bystrica and my family didn’t really like Bratislava, SOFTIP was the only right choice—one I don’t regret and am incredibly happy about. I’ve found a new family here.
2. How did your career at SOFTIP start and where are you today?
I started out as a temporary replacement for a colleague who was going on maternity leave; in just one month, she walked me through the entire Microsoft portfolio, which would then fall on my shoulders. Since our division relies on Microsoft technologies and our partnership with Microsoft, I felt a great sense of responsibility. Fortunately, I was already familiar with the corporate world, so I could imagine how Microsoft’s processes worked, and that made the beginning much easier for me. But I knew I also wanted to continue focusing on technical matters, and in that regard, I was still searching for my path—which part of the cloud world would be the right fit for me? The guys (Janči and Paťo) made my search easier and steered me in the right direction. Today, I focus on governance for the Power Platform, and in the future, I’d like to expand my scope of responsibilities to include other areas as well.
3. Why does this work make sense to you and what do you like best about it?
Our future lies in technology; it’s great to be right in the midst of these developments and see where and how quickly we’re moving forward—to actually have firsthand information. It’s also great to understand the background of the products that almost all of us use on a regular basis. And thirdly, I don’t have to worry that I’ll one day become a grandmother who’s afraid to click a mouse because it’s something completely foreign to her. 😊
4. Why do you like working for us?
One word—team. Thanks to Paťo’s efforts, our team has brought together people who share the same values, who are always there to help one another and are always there for each other. Colleagues quickly become acquaintances, and acquaintances gradually become friends.
