Let them charge what they want? Not anymore!

Gone are the days when we, as entrepreneurs, could not care less what program an accountant worked with. Or what system our accountant used to issue invoices, track due dates, and guard cash flow. It wasn't that they were doing it wrong, not keeping up with legislative changes or being late in completing tasks and meeting statutory deadlines. But they often didn't do it in a way that also added value. Because it can be done, and it does not cost a penny more than it used to. Maybe even less...

Imagine you have a document to send to your business partner.

You will be given a choice - email or fax. I would bet even my last money that 99 percent will choose e-mail. So why do so many of us still use off-line accounting and billing systems instead of online ones?

So why do so many of us still use offline accounting and billing systems instead of online ones?

Their advantages are well known. The ability to work without being tied to time and place, easier collaboration between the economist and the accountant, simple administration, timeliness and flexibility in case I need to change the available functions due to growth (but also harder times) in the company. Nowadays it is also no problem to get solutions that combine accounting, invoicing, warehouse, tracking of goods movement, inventory, etc. And last but not least, we should mention security - whether we are talking about the stability of systems, eliminating the threat of data loss due to technical errors, backing them up or protecting them from viruses. We do not need to tell ourselves that small and medium-sized companies in particular have this agenda treated much worse than large cloud solution providers.

For me as an entrepreneur, a significant benefit of the online system is easy access to data.

For me as an entrepreneur, a significant benefit of the online system is easy access to data. I can view them anywhere, even on my mobile phone if necessary. If the other party asks me in a meeting about the data available in it, I can provide it immediately. Oh, and let's not forget the financial side of things either - start-ups in particular will appreciate that apps like Keepi put all the necessary accounting and invoicing tools in their hands for free...

A friend of mine said goodbye to one of his two assistants some time ago. They had software that allowed them to handle the „paperwork“ associated with running a business in a largely automated fashion. Despite this, the invoicing took an incredibly long time, with the bookkeeper having to manually upload much of the data. Of course, the owner of the company does not have time to find out whether his employees are actually using the possibilities of the software he puts at their disposal, but once he learns such a thing, he may be very unpleasantly surprised.

A smart IT solution is therefore not a panacea.

A smart IT solution is therefore not a panacea. Ultimately, the „link“ between the keyboard and the chair is still the key. But try putting a tool in his hands that is simple, flexible, fast, intuitive and ensure that he learns to use it perfectly. You may be surprised that not only will your overview of the running of the business improve, but so will the satisfaction of those ultimately responsible for looking after its finances.
