„In the past year, many companies and organisations have chosen to move to a hybrid working mode, combining office and home working. This often created a need for change in management, core processes, but also in the company culture itself. Our partners therefore focused on making tools available for communication, collaboration, remote access and also on securing corporate data effectively in the new mode of working. Innovative projects using the cloud have not only helped in the area of online work and communication, but have enabled our customers to fundamentally modernize their own projects and services,“ said Martin Hruška, Director for Partner Ecosystem at Microsoft Czech Republic and Slovakia. The winning SOFTIP projects confirm his words.

In the category Modern Infrastructure SOFTIP succeeded thanks to the deployment of SLSP Remote Business Access via Azure Virtual Desktop in society Slovak Savings Bank. The project has brought enhanced capabilities for employees to work from a variety of new locations in the familiar Windows 10 environment.Efficient dynamic resource allocation as well as easy administration and maintenance are additional benefits. The parameters of virtual workstations can be adjusted while efficiently using the performance actually needed over time. Although the workstations are in Azure, users see no difference in performance.
In the category Hybrid Workplace & Cultural Change the winner was SOFTIP with the solution A common modern workplace for all state-owned heating plants MH Heating holding. Each of them used different services, different domains or different applications. The need to work efficiently in a single collaborative environment necessitated a multi-forest architecture and thus the interconnection of each heating plant to one centralised point. This allowed us to secure identities under one roof in Azure Active Directory and subsequently migrate the 750 or so users who were using different mail services to Exchange Online. Ultimately, the deployment of Microsoft Teams created an efficient, unified, reliable communication and collaboration environment.
The third triumph for SOFTIP was in the category Secure Remote Work, where Microsoft awarded complete migration of the largest private network of hospitals and polyclinics ProCare and World of Health The innovativeness of the whole project rested on the foundations of the strategy of modernising everything that was possible as Software as a Service or Platform as a Service. All servers and applications where this was feasible were migrated to the MS Azure environment. The original terminal farms were replaced with a modern Windows Virtual Desktop solution.

„Our customers have realised that the digital transformation of their business and internal processes is not only helping them to better cope with the current turbulent times, but also growing their competitiveness with them. For us, winning three laurels at the Microsoft Awards 2021 is confirmation that we can meet their requirements at the highest level. It is also an exceptional achievement. I would therefore like to thank them for their trust and the opportunity to collaborate on the most innovative projects in Slovakia,“ he said. Ján Schwarz, Technical Director of SOFTIP.
