
Cybercrime, information manipulation, political or economic espionage, attacks on critical infrastructure, theft of personal or confidential data, threats to information and communication systems... These attacks know no boundaries, are increasingly sophisticated and are increasing in intensity. It was therefore essential for the international community to come together to help ensure peace and security in the digital space.
The Paris Call was first presented in November 2018 by the President of the French Republic, Emmanuel Macron, at the Paris Peace Forum. Currently, the Paris Call is supported by 75 countries around the world; more than 360 civil society and public sector organisations; and over 600 private sector actors. Among its biggest supporters are companies such as Microsoft, Siemens, Google, Facebook, and Huawei (which joined the Challenge in summer 2019). The development of artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things or the collection of data on all aspects of human activity, or even predictions of our behaviour, brings huge opportunities for the development of new services and the improvement of the quality of life and functioning of society and companies. At the same time, however, it also creates new opportunities for criminal activity. That is why, as one of the leading Slovak IT companies, we feel obliged to join the Paris Challenge.
